About Young ARTA EDU

A film is not just a story. It is a language, a tool, a window — and, sometimes, a mirror.

Young ARTA EDU uses the cinema as a learning space: a place where pupils discover how moving images work, how to interpret them and, through them, gain a better understanding of the world in which they live.

We offer educational programmes developed in collaboration with teachers – film screenings, creative workshops and discussions facilitate by professionals, held either in the cinema or directly at school, depending on the chosen path.

Are you a teacher and would you like to organise a trip to the cinema with one of the classes you teach? Write us at educatie@cinema-arta.ro. Together, we will choose the film and activities that best suit your objectives. Screenings can be scheduled either during or outside of lesson times.

Film Education

We live surrounded by images. Do we know how to look at them?

Film education programmes are based on the belief that an understanding of audiovisual language is, today, an essential skill, not a cultural luxury. The activities are tailored to the participants’ age, ranging from simple practical exercises to complex creative or reflective workshops, led by artists and film professionals.

Education through cinema

„Film can help us to understand ourselves. But equally, it can help us understand other people, other cultures, other times, ideas and values. The wider our access to film, the deeper and more complex our interaction with the world around us." – British Film Institute

Watching films

Film, when used as a teaching tool, does not replace the subject matter taught in class, but rather opens up new perspectives on it, broadening its scope. The teachers we work with integrate film as a teaching tool into a wide variety of contexts: literature, citizenship, history, geography and environmental education.

The shared objective remains the same: to provide young people with the critical and emotional tools to navigate the world – with greater curiosity, empathy and responsibility.
